BEIRUT, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) -- Four people were killed, including two women, in a car bomb explosion that hit Beirut's southern suburb of Haret Hreik on Tuesday, the Lebanese National News Agency reported.
As many as 27 people were injured during the explosion and they were taken to hospital, the report said.
Earlier in January, a suicide bombing struck the same neighborhood, which is considered the stronghold of the Shiite Hezbollah, leaving five people killed and dozens injured.
Iran to continue support for Lebanon's Hezbollah: lawmaker

Lebanon arrests commander of al-Qaida linked group
BEIRUT, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- The Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) arrested a commander of an al-Qaida linked terrorist group on Wednesday during a raid in western Bekaa region, which also left one people dead, according to a statement by the army.
The Lebanese Intelligence Directorate arrested Jamal Dafterdar, the commander of "Abdullah Azzam Brigades" after a dawn raid on his whereabouts in a western Bekaa village, the statement read, adding that "a gunman attacked the LAF with a hand grenade during the operation, prompting the army to shoot him dead."
