BANGKOK, Jan. 19 (Xinhua) -- Twenty-eight people were injured in a bomb explosion that occurred at the Victory Monument, one of the main rally site for anti-government protesters in the Thai capital Bangkok on Sunday noon, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration's Erawan Emergency Medical Services Center said.
The injured, including a female reporter, have been taken to hospitals, according to the center.
This is the second bomb attack on anti-government protesters in the daytime since the operation to paralyze Bangkok was launched on Monday in a bid to oust caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra before the Feb. 2 snap election.
An earlier bomb blast on Friday left one dead and 39 others wounded.
