NEW DELHI, Jan. 1 (Xinhua) -- A fire broke out on a South Korean cargo ship anchored at the Mumbai Port Trust (MPT) Tuesday night, without causing any casualty, said local media.
The Press Trust of India quoted naval sources as saying according to initial information available, nobody has been injured in the mishap.
The report quoted naval sources as saying the blaze started at around 21:00 but was put out within 30 minutes by six fire engines that were rushed to the spot, which comes under Yellow Gate police station limits.
The area where the ship Soorong Song was docked at was not defense area but near a navy dock.
The report said the fire started in the transformer of the ship, although the cause of blaze cannot be known immediately while the nature of goods on the ship is not known.
Earlier, a report by Times of India online said a Chinese cargo ship caught fire.
