BANGKOK, Dec. 27 (Xinhua) -- A coach plunged off a bridge in Lom Sak district of north Thailand's Phetchabun province, leaving at least 31 people dead and four others injured, local media reported on Friday.
The coach carrying 37 people departed from Khon Kaen province at around 8 p.m. Thursday local time and fell off a 50-meter high bridge on its way to the northeastern Chiang Rai province.
The accident was spotted around midnight and rescue is now under way.
The Chinese embassy in Thailand is now confirming with local police to see if there are any Chinese casualties, and has received no reply yet.

44 students hurt in Phuket bus accident
BANGKOK, Nov. 9 (Xinhua) -- A tour bus carrying mainly exchange students overturned when climbing a steep mountain road in Thailand's island resort Phuket on Saturday, injuring 44 people aboard.
The double-decker vehicle rolled back on a curve up Patong Hill in Phuket and plunged into a roadside ditch. The injured were rushed to two hospitals with one Pakistani in critical condition, local police said. Full story
