KABUL, Dec. 11 (Xinhua) -- One soldier of the NATO-led coalition forces was killed on Wednesday in explosion in southern Afghanistan.
"An International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) service member died following an improvised explosive device attack in southern Afghanistan today," the ISAF forces confirmed in a statement.
The statement gave neither the nationality of the victim nor the details about the incident under the ISAF policy.
More than 86,000 NATO-led foreign troops, down from the peak of 130,000 in 2010, are currently being deployed in the war-torn country.
Nearly 150 NATO-led coalition soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan in 2013.
Afghan militancy claims 2 dozen lives in 2 days
KABUL, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- Taliban-linked militancy and violent incidents have claimed the lives of 24 people including nine civilians and 15 militants over the past two days in the militancy- plagued Afghanistan, officials said Tuesday.
