THE HAGUE, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- A Dutch couple kidnapped this summer in Yemen were released this weekend, the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed on Tuesday.
Judith Spiegel and her partner Baldwin Berendsen were kidnapped on June 8 in Sana'a, and have since then been held hostage in Yemen.
After an imprisonment of six months, they were released close to the Dutch embassy this weekend. The couple is in good physical health and will be reunited with their family in the Netherlands as soon as possible, the ministry stated.
