YANGON, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- At least seven people were killed in a fire that broke out in a wholesale market in Yangon's Mayangone township Monday midnight, local Police Force confirmed Tuesday.
Among the victims, three were men while two were women. The sex of the two remaining victims could not be identified as they were seriously burned, police said.
The fire that raged the Venus Garden Spa lying at the top floor of the Gandamar wholesale market occurred at midnight.
The tragedy was due to electric short-circuit triggered by overheat of an iron being plugged inside the Spa, the sources said.
The fire had been brought under control, it added.
