SINGAPORE, Dec. 8 (Xinhua) -- A riot apparently took place on Sunday evening in an ethnic neighborhood in Singapore, police said.
Local media said the riot started in the evening in Little India after a private bus hit a South Asian worker.
A mob of mostly foreign workers, apparently attacked an ambulance and a traffic police patrol car responding to the accident, the Straits Times said.
By midnight, police officers were at the scene and were in control of the situation.
It was not immediately clear if any people were injured. The Straits Times said at least two vehicles were set on fire, one of which is an ambulance. A few police cars were also believed to be overturned and one was set on fire.
