India's opposition BJP lead in 3 state election vote counting

NEW DELHI, Dec. 8 (Xinhua) -- Early official counting results of the vote of the local legislative elections in four Indian states including capital Delhi showed the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won the states of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, while the Congress is set to lose the capital.

Local media said BJP got landslide victory in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh while leading in Delhi. It is also running shoulder to shoulder with Congress in the central state of Chhattisgarh.

The Congress is set to lose Delhi after leading in it for 15 years. Third party AAP is running shoulder to shoulder with BJP in the capital.

The elections were held late last month and early this mongh and are seen as a forerunning for the general election next May.
