NEW DELHI, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) -- At least 14 people were killed and some others injured in a road mishap in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh Wednesday, a senior police official said.
"The mishap happened when a truck in which the victims, all laborers, were travelling overturned on the Datia-Jhansi highway in the state. While 14 people died on the spot, those injured have been admitted to a local hospital," he said, on condition of anonymity.
The truck was loaded with bags of rice and was travelling at a high speed when the mishap happened, eyewitnesses told local TV channels.
A probe has been ordered into the mishap, the official added.

"The mishap happened when a bus in which some 50 passengers were traveling caught fire after its fuel tank burst while the driver of the vehicle was overtaking another bus in the state's Mehboobnagar district at 5 a.m. (local time).
