BAGHDAD, Nov. 8 (Xinhua) -- At least 3 people were killed and 10 others wounded in twin bomb attacks on Friday in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad, a police source said.
Two roadside bombs were set off successively near Imam Ali mosque in Safarart district, a Sunni-dominated neighborhood in western Baghdad, the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
The attacks targeted worshipers who were leaving Imam Ali mosque after finishing the Friday prayer, the source added, without elaborating further.
Iraq is witnessing its worst eruption of violence in recent years. According to the UN Assistance Mission for Iraq, almost 7, 000 Iraqis were killed and over 16,000 others injured from January to October this year.
At least 15 killed in two suicide bomb attacks north of Baghdad
BAGHDAD, Nov. 7 (Xinhua) -- At least 15 people were killed on Thursday night and 45 wounded in two bomb attacks north of the Iraqi capital of Baghdad, a police source said.
Two suicide bombers drove their explosive-laden cars into an Iraqi army base in Tarmiyah area, a predominantly Sunni Arab town about 30 km north of Baghdad, the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity. Full story
