GAZA, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- Hamas security sources said that an Israeli F16 war jet struck with one bomb near a Hamas military training post in northern Gaza city, causing no damage or injuries.
The airstrike is the first of its kind in two months, as Israel and Hamas, the Islamic movement controlling Gaza, are observing a nearly one-year ceasefire, which is mostly shaky.
Witnesses said that a huge explosion was heard near the training military base that belongs to Hamas armed wing al-Qassam Brigades.
Ambulances and rescue crews rushed to the scene.
The Israeli airstrike on northern Gaza came shortly after militants launched four rockets from northern Gaza Strip on southern Israel. No one claimed responsibility for the attack.
Overnight, unknown militants also from Gaza fired three mortar shells on an Israeli army force near the borders between northern Gaza Strip and Israel. No injuries or damage were reported.
