BAKU, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- An exit poll organization's figure released on Wednesday shows that incumbent President Ilham Aliyev has won Azerbaijani presidential election for a third five-year term.
An independent polling company' figure shows that the Aliyev has won the election with 83.89 percent of the votes.
Jamil Hasanli, the main opponent of Aliyev, has gained 8.2 percent of the votes, and the other eight candidates shared the remaining votes.
The election witnessed a voter turnout of over 70 percent until 5 p.m. (1200 GMT). About 5 million eligible voters were supposed to have cast their ballots, according to the Central Election Commission.
