MOSCOW, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- Three people were killed and 11 others injured when a car blasted near a police station in Russia's southwest Dagestan republic on Monday, local authorities said.
"A car with a terrorist was moving by a Tabasaransky district police precinct and then it sharply turned towards it and exploded," the Itar-Tass news agency quoted a ministry spokesman as saying.
A police officer, a Federal Migration Service official and the suicide bomber were killed in the blast. Eleven people, including five police officers and four civilians, were hospitalized, the regional Investigations Committee told reporters.
The explosion damaged nine cars parked near the building. A nearby building belonging to a Federal Migration Service department, which was under construction, collapsed.
"A number of forensic evaluations have been ordered. The suicide bomber is being identified and the capacity of the bomb is being determined," said the authorities.
