JERUSALEM, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- A Palestinian allegedly killed an Israeli soldier, Tomer Hazan, in order to use him as an hostage to bring to the release of his brother who is jailed in an Israeli prison, Israeli media reported Saturday.
A spokesperson from the Israel Defense Forces confirmed to Xinhua that Hazan's body was found Saturday in a Palestinian village in the West Bank.
Hazan was reported missing on Friday morning by his family.
The suspect, Nadal Amar, once worked with Hazan at a restaurant in the Israeli city of Bait-Amin, allegedly persuaded Hazan to accompany him to his home in the Palestinian village of Sinrya, Israeli Ynet website reported.
Amar's brother is locked in an Israeli jail where he served 30- year sentence for involvement in a bombing attack against Israeli citizens.
