FAIZABAD, Afghanistan, Sept. 6 (Xinhua) -- Four Taliban fighters were killed and six others including three militants and three Afghan troopers sustained injuries as clash erupted in parts of northeastern Badakhshan province on Friday, spokesman for provincial administration Abdul Marouf Rasikh confirmed.
"Afghan forces raided Taliban hideouts in Ragistan and Zibak districts today during which four rebels including a Taliban commander named Mullah Abdul Rahman were killed," Rasikh told Xinhua.
He also added that six others including three militants were injured during the clash which lasted for a while.
Meantime, Daulat Mohammad, governor of Wardoj district, revealed that a mine planted by militants struck a military vehicle Friday, injuring three Afghan soldiers.
Taliban militants who have vowed to dethrone the Afghan government and largely relying on suicide and roadside bombings, are yet to make comments.
