CAIRO, Aug. 20 (Xinhua) -- Egyptian armed forces arrested 11 members of terrorist groups, including two Palestinians, in North Sinai over attacks on the police and army premises, official news agency MENA reported Tuesday.
The forces raided several criminal hideouts in the Peninsula in the early morning and arrested 11 terrorists.
The operation came one day after suspected militants ambushed two buses carrying off-duty security forces in Egypt's northern Sinai Peninsula, killing at least 25 soldiers and wounded three others.
The security condition deteriorated in Sinai since ousting former President Hosni Mubarak in 2011, and became worse after the ouster of his successor Islamic Mohamed Morsi, which triggered violence between security forces and his supporters calling for his reinstating. Enditem
