AMMAN, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) -- King Abdullah II of Jordan on Sunday warned that Israel's unilateral measures in Jerusalem have serious consequences on the future of the entire peace process.
King Abdullah II said Jordan supports all efforts seeking to address final status issues and lead to the creation of an independent and viable Palestinian state with the borders of 1967 that lives side by side along with Israel in peace and security, state-run Petra news agency reported.
During a meeting with visiting U.S. envoy for the peace process, Martin Indyk, the Jordanian leader emphasized that the establishment of a Palestinian state is a top Jordanian interest.
He said it is important that all players in the peace process exert their utmost efforts to overcome obstacles against the negotiations.
The U.S. official voiced his country's appreciation of efforts by Jordan to attain peace, stability and security in the Middle East.
