TEHRAN, July 20 (Xinhua) -- Tehran and Baghdad will sign an agreement on Sunday, with which Iran will supply natural gas to Iraq's Al-Baghdad and Al-Mansouriyah power plants, Press TV reported Saturday.
Iran's Deputy Oil Minister Javad Owji said Saturday that the agreement would be signed by Iranian Oil Minister Rostam Qasemi and his Iraqi counterpart, Abdul Kareem Luaibi, in Baghdad, according to the report.
Negotiations between the two countries' officials over the gas deal have been underway since two and a half years ago, Owji said, adding that Iran would pump 25 million cubic meter of natural gas per day to the two Iraqi power plants. In return, Iran would receive 3.7 billion U.S. dollars a year from natural gas exports to Iraq, he added.
