TEHRAN, June 10 (Xinhua) -- Iran's conservative presidential candidate Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel announced his withdrawal from the upcoming presidential race on Monday, state IRIB TV website reported.
Haddad-Adel, a close ally to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said that his withdrawal from the presidency aimed at "strengthening the principlists' camp," according to IRIB TV.
Out of eight approved candidates for Iran's presidential race, six are conservatives, or as they prefer to be called " principlists."

TEHRAN, June 10 (Xinhua) -- Iran's pro-reform candidate, Mohammad-Reza Aref, denied Monday that he has dropped his bid for presidency in favor of the moderate candidate, Hassan Rouhani, semi-official Mehr news agency reported.
Earlier in the day, local media said that a coalition committee, consisting of advisors to both former Iranian reformist President Mohammad Khatami and ex-moderate candidate Akbar Hashemi- Rafsanjani, voted for Aref's withdrawal in favor of Rouhani in the upcoming presidential election race and Aref has accepted the committee's vote. Iran's leader urges next president to revive economy in face of Western threats
TEHRAN, June 4 (Xinhua) -- Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said Tuesday that the next Iranian president should focus on the country's economy which is targeted by the West.

Iran presidential candidate slams US over nuclear talks
BEIJING, May 29 (Xinhuanet) --Iranian presidential candidate Mohsen Rezaei has criticized the US for using nuclear talks as a political tool. Speaking during a campaign rally in Tehran, he said the talks were a means for the US to buy time "so that the full impact of economic sanctions were felt."
Mohsen Rezaei said, "What are the nuclear talks with the West meant for? The talks currently in progress are only meant for buying time for the USA. Iran presidential candidate says western sanctions should be broken
TEHRAN, May 27 (Xinhua) -- An Iranian presidential candidate said Monday that the western sanctions on his country should be broken and next administration should adopt new policies to mitigate the "impact of sanctions in the country."
