MOSCOW, May 1 (Xinhua) -- Two teenagers were killed a blast in Russia's North Caucasus republic of Dagestan, local police said Wednesday.
The bomb, equivalent to two kilograms of TNT, exploded on a street near a market in the capital city of Makhachkala, killing two people and injuring another two, a police spokesman told reporters.
After the blast which took place at about noon, the scene has been cordoned off. A probe into the incident was underway.
The police denied reports that a third victim died due to serious injuries in the hospital.
Violence is common in Russia's North Caucasus, especially in the republics of Chechnya, Dagestan and Ingushetia, with militants frequently mounting attacks against police officers and authorities.
