CAIRO, March 21 (Xinhua) -- Egypt's insurance and social affairs minister said Thursday that the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) group has already been registered as a civil society organization since March 19 after the group had submitted a legal request which approved by the ministry, official MENA news agency reported.
Nagwa Khalil, insurance and social affairs minister, added that the ministry would monitor the activities and the budget of the MB like all other NGOs, noting that the group was now officially registered under NGO 644 for the year 2013.
Egypt's State Commissioners Authority, a judicial body belonging to the Supreme Administrative Court, issued a report Wednesday recommending the court to dissolve the group arguing " its presence does not have a legal basis." The report added that the MB had never been legal since its establishment.
The administrative court will rule on lawsuits demanding dissolution of the MB on March 26.
