CAPE TOWN, March 20 (Xinhua) -- Five foreigners were killed in a robbery in Cape Town, police said on Wednesday.

The victims were believed to be Pakistanis, according to the South African Press Association.

The robbery took place on Tuesday night in a house used as a bakery, according to police spokesman Colonel Tembinkosi Kinana.

He said two unidentified men entered the house, demanded the safe and fired shots at six occupants.

Four people were killed on the spot, while two were critically injured and rushed to the hospital, one of whom later died in hospital, Kinana said.

A 28-year-old suspect was arrested and another was still at large.

Police recovered one firearm and the safe.
