KADUNA, Nigeria, March 19 (Xinhua) -- Tension remains high in Nigeria's northern city of Kaduna on Tuesday in the aftermath of a bomb attack on a Lagos-bound luxury buses which left more than 20 people dead and scores of others injured.
A combined team of anti-riot police and soldiers have been sent to restore peace and wade off trouble makers.
In the Barnawa complex area in the southern part of Kano State, where lies the city of Kaduna, there was heavy presence of combat- ready soldiers.
Also, in the northern part of the metropolis, there was stop and search conducted by soldiers at check-points, while roads leading to the Mando garage were manned by heavily armed Air Force personnel.
Patrols were seen along Ahmadu Bello way enroute to the southern part of the state, television garage, Sabon Tasha through the Post Office road.
Other patrol teams went to the northern part of the state, including Ungwar Sarki, Ungwar Shanu and Kawo areas.
