KHOST, Afghanistan, March 19 (Xinhua) -- A powerful blast rocked Khost city 150 km southeast of Kabul on Tuesday afternoon, wounding three police personnel, a local official said. "An explosive device planted on a police vehicle went off in Khost city the capital of Khost province, at around 05:00 p.m. today wounding three police personnel," the official told Xinhua but declined to be identified, saying authorized officials would brief the media after investigation.
However, he added that one of those injured in the blast is the logistic director of police detention center in the province.
Earlier, a similar incident in the western region left two policemen dead and three others injured.
