KABUL, March 17 (Xinhua) -- One NATO-led ISAF soldier was killed Saturday when a helicopter went down in southern Afghanistan, the coalition forces confirmed Sunday.
"An International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) service member died following a helicopter crash in southern Afghanistan yesterday," the ISAF said in a statement.
"The cause of the incident is under investigation, but initial reports indicate there was no enemy activity in the area at the time of the crash," it added.
Afghan officials said that the chopper had gone down in Daman district of southern Kandahar province.
On March 11, five U.S. soldiers were killed when an ISAF Black Hawk helicopter crashed in Daman in the province 450 km south of Kabul.
