AMMAN, March 16 (Xinhua) -- A total of 14 Palestinians and one Jordanian died in a traffic accident near Amman on Saturday, the state-run Petra news agency reported.
The Palestinians, from the West Bank, died after their bus struck a small car and a truck and then overturned, the report said, quoting the Civil Defense Department. The Jordanian was reportedly driver of the small car.
A total of 38 other Palestinians were injured in the accident, according to sources, which added that some of them were in critical conditions and are in local hospitals now.
The bus was transporting the passengers who were on their way from Mecca to the West Bank after performing the Umra minor pilgrimages.
