The UNHRC said that 225,000 refugees have been registered with its offices and over 131,000 others are still waiting to complete their registration process.

It pointed out that it has registered over 12,000 refugees during the past week alone.

There are currently 102,527 refugees registered in north Lebanon, 85,998 in the Bekaa region, 19,785 in Beirut and south Lebanon, and 17,399 in Mount Lebanon, the report said.

On Thursday, UN High Commissioner for Refugees Antonio Guterres called on the international community to show commitment and to support Lebanon which is hosting a large number of Syrian refugees.

Lebanon has submitted to the UN a plan which calls for a financial aid of 370 million U.S. dollars to help it host the refugees.
