ANKARA, March 16 (Xinhua) -- One soldier of the Turkish security forces was killed and another wounded as they opened fire on each other in a dispute in eastern Turkey, local media reported Saturday.
The incident took place at Gendarmerie Headquarters in Elazig province late Friday. After hearing the gunshot, the military personnel ran into a room and found one soldier dead and another seriously wounded, the report said, without mentioning the reason behind the dispute.
The wounded was taken to the hospital and the body of the dead soldier was sent to his hometown.
An investigation was underway.
