Israel arrests 10 Palestinians in West Bank after stone-throwing incident

JERUSALEM, March 15 (Xinhua) -- The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) overnight Thursday arrested 10 Palestinians suspected of involving in a stone-throwing incident Thursday, injuring a toddler seriously.

On Friday, the IDF spokesperson unit clarifies that "the IDF views the incident severely and will not tolerate with stone- throwing."

The local battalion forces entered Palestinian villages in the West Bank, not far from the scene of incident, and turned over the arrested Palestinian to investigation.

The incident occurred Thursday evening when a truck driver veered off track to avoid stones being thrown by Palestinians toward the cars and crashed into a woman's car on Route 5 connecting Tel Aviv and the West Bank city of Ariel.

The driver hit the car coming up toward him, causing a three- year-old Israeli girl injured seriously and her mother and two sisters suffered mediocre wounds.

In another hurling incident in the West Bank, a Palestinian was seriously wounded by Israeli soldiers Thursday evening when two Palestinians hurled Molotov cocktails toward a guarding station in the area.

Earlier this week, a 25-year-old Palestinian was shot dead by Israeli soldiers after stones hit their jeep.
