HOUSTON, March 13 (Xinhua) -- A fire caused when a tug towing a barge hit a pipeline in the U.S. state of Lousiana continued to burn Wednesday and officials don't expect it to to burn itself out till Thursday.
The blaze began Tuesday night when the tug, which was pushing a barge with some 2,200 barrels of oil on board, struck the pipeline near Bayou Perot, south of New Orleans, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.
Four people aboard the tug were injured, according to media reports.
There were no reports of oil leaking from the barge or tug, the Coast Guard said.
The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
