HANOI, March 5 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam will try its best to work with Russia to further develop bilateral ties with efficiency in all fields, including national defense, said Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang on Tuesday.
At a reception for Russian Defense Minister General Sergei Shoigu here, Sang highly applauded the outcomes of talks between Shoigu and his Vietnamese counterpart, General Phung Quang Thanh, saying they would contribute to promoting the all-sided cooperation between the two countries.
Although the two countries have different political mechanisms, cooperation between them has finely developed with effective results and in line with the bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership and the interest of both sides, he said.
Sang expressed the hope that Shoigu would contribute to strengthening defense cooperation between Vietnam and Russia and maintaining it at a high level.
Shoigu said he would try his best to implement effectively cooperative agreements in military and military techniques signed by the two sides.
Shoigu is leading a Russian senior military delegation for a two-day visit to Vietnam which ended on Tuesday at the invitation of his Vietnamese counterpart.
