Incumbent Armenian president wins second term: exit poll

YEREVAN, Feb. 18 (Xinhua) -- An exit poll said on Monday that incumbent Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan has won this year's presidential election to secure a second five-year term.

The exit poll was conducted by Gallup International, according to local TV reports.

The poll found that the incumbent president gained 58 percent of popular votes, while his closest rival, former Armenian foreign minister Raffi Hovannisian, won 31 percent.

Over 19,000 voters were polled by Gallup International on Monday, said the reports.

Voting for the 2013 Armenian presidential election just concluded at 8 p.m. local time (1600 GMT) Monday.
