BRUSSELS, Feb. 17 (Xinhua) -- Cypriot right-wing party leader Nicos Anastasiades wins on Sunday the presidential election as he is winning 51.1 percent of ballot tickets, a local survey showed.
A survey by state broadcaster Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation showed that Anastasiades is leading by 51.1 percent, compared to 27.3 percent for leftist candidate Stavros Malas and 18 percent for independent candidate George Lillikas.
Other polls show even higher ratings for Anastasiades.
If the exit polls are confirmed, Anastasiades will be declared as the seventh president of the Cyprus Republic, taking office on March 1.
