DAMASCUS, Feb. 9 (Xinhua) -- At least two people were killed Saturday when an explosive device went off in a suburb of Syria's capital Damascus, local media reported.
The explosive device went off at al-Suyouf Square in the eastern suburb of Jaramana, the pro-government Sham FM radio reported. It said four other people were also injured.
Further details surrounding the blast are still forthcoming.
Jaramana, dominated by Christians and Druze minority, has seen a series of deadly explosions over the past recent months that claimed the lives of scores of people. Some believe they are targeted due to their loyalty to the regime of President Bashar al- Assad.
Explosive derives' blasts have become daily routine across Syria that has been gripped by a long-standing conflict.
