ANKARA, Feb. 2 (Xinhua) -- Bomb disposal experts found out that the suicide bomber detonated some 6 kg of TNT explosives as well as a hand grenade in an attack targeting the U.S. Embassy in Ankara on Friday, said a statement released by Ankara Governor's Office on Saturday.
The suicide bomber, identified as Ecevit Sanli, also a member of the far-left Revolutionary People's Liberation Party/Front ( DHKP/C), killed himself and a Turkish security guard in the attack.
It was the second deadly assault on an U.S. diplomatic post in five months.
The statement said Sanli was arrested in 1997 for membership in the DHKP/C. The man also took part in a major hunger strike that led to the deaths of dozens of inmates.
