MANAMA, Jan. 30 (Xinhua) -- Three policemen were injured Wednesday after a home-made bomb detonated in one of Bahrain's clash-hit areas.
Police officials confirmed the incident that happened in Jidhafs, with witnesses frequent violent clashes between anti- government protestors and police.
"Three policemen sustained minor injuries in a terror attack by a remotely detonated home-made bomb," the Interior Ministry stated.
Following the incident, police set up checkpoints and special security forces were heavily deployed in the area, as they searched for the culprits.
The incident came ahead of the much-anticipated national dialogue between political societies and the government to end the stalemate. It is expected to start in the coming weeks with the participation of the largest opposition group Al Wefaq National Islamic Society.
