OSAKA, Jan. 25 (Xinhua)-- A female driver was rescued on Friday after her car plunged 20m from a multi-storey car park in Oita City of Oita Prefecture, southwestern Japan, local press reported.
After receiving an emergency call, local fire fighters rescued the woman trapped in the driver's seat of her car and rushed her to a hospital, but she was only slightly wounded.
The accident happened at around 0:35 p.m. local time when the woman in her 50s drove her passenger car off the roof of the six- storey park in the city center, said the daily Yomiuri Shimbun.
The report cited local rescue team as saying that the crash impact could be softened since the vehicle hit electric cables connected to the second floor of the car park building before landing on the street.
Police are investigating the cause of the incident.
