TRIPOLI, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) -- The Forum for Democratic Libya ( FDL) in coordination with the United Nations Development Program ( UNDP) on Wednesday launched a dialogue initiative, dubbed "I want in my constitution," to take part in drawing up Libya's new constitution.

The initiative includes a series of dialogue sessions, which will be held nationwide in the coming weeks. The outcome of each session will be documented and presented to the 60-member panel tasked with drafting Libya's new constitution.

The "I want in my constitution" initiative provides a platform for civil society and citizens to contribute in writing the constitution, Amro Ben Halim, chairman of FDL, told Xinhua.

The initiative is a historic opportunity to build and consolidate the democratic culture and accountable governance system in Libya through equal and free participation of citizens, he said.

Halim noted that the constitution is not only a legal document, but also a social contract, which includes no discrimination among all spectra of society.
