KABUL, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) -- Taliban gunmen may seize several employees in a four-storey traffic police office building they seized on Monday in western Afghan capital of Kabul, local media Tolo News reported, citing unnamed sources.
"An undetermined number of traffic police employees who were on duty in the building overnight are held by the armed militants inside the facility," the report said quoting the source.
No official with the Kabul police or Interior Ministry was available to make comments.
Taliban launched a coordinated attack in the compound early Monday morning and sporadic gunfire still could be heard in the afternoon. According to the report, the gunmen get access to a weapons depot in the facility locating in Dehmazang area of the city.
The counter-attack is still going on.
At least three traffic policemen were killed and four policemen and 18 civilians were wounded in the attack, according to the report.
