CARACAS, Jan. 2 (Xinhua) -- Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez's condition is stable but still delicate, Minister of Science and Technology Jorge Arreaza said Wednesday.
"The medical team told us President Chavez's condition continues to be
stable, but delicate," Arreaza, who is also the son-in-law of Chavez, said on Twitter.
Arreaza also said that Chavez's brother, Adan Chavez, arrived in Havana Wednesday.
Chavez, who has been fighting an undisclosed type of pelvic cancer since June 2011, underwent a fourth round of surgery in Cuba on Dec. 11. His health has been the subject of intense media coverage since he is scheduled to be sworn in to a third six-year term on Jan. 10.
