SEOUL, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) -- South Korean President Lee Myung-bak on Friday sent a message of sympathy to U.S. President Barack Obama over the devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy.
Lee expressed "deep condolences" over the loss of life and property caused by the superstorm, which swept across the U.S. East Coast and claimed over 90 lives so far, according to his office Cheong Wa Dae.
The president also voiced confidence that the American people will come together under Obama's "outstanding leadership" and overcome the time of difficulty, Cheong Wa Dae said in a statement.
