BUENOS AIRES, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- Argentina's President Cristina Fernandez Tuesday suffered a fainting spell that forced her to suspend all official activities, official sources said.
According to a statement from the Presidential Medical Unit, issued noon Tuesday, Fernandez was showing signs of "slight low blood pressure," leading her doctors to recommend "suspending activities and resting all day."
Fernandez has been afflicted with similar symptoms before, the last time on Aug. 22.
Previously, in April 2011, doctors recommended Fernandez postpone an official visit to Mexico following a fainting spell.
In January 2011, she suffered a fainting spell and was diagnosed to have symptoms of dehydration that called for complete rest, while in 2009, prior to an official visit to Cuba and Venezuela, her condition again required two days of rest.
