ISLAMABAD, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- At least two people were killed and several others injured in a U.S. drone attack in Pakistan's northwest tribal area of North Waziristan on Wednesday afternoon, local media reported.
Local TV Express reported that the drone strike was launched at about 2:50 p.m. local time when the U.S. unmanned aircraft fired two missiles at a house suspected to be a militants' hideout in Miranshah area of North Waziristan, a restive tribal area bordering Afghanistan.
The death toll is likely to increase as there were reportedly many people in the house and several of them are in a critical condition.
According to Xinhua's tally, Wednesday's strike is 34th of its kind since the beginning of this year. So far this year at least 236 people have been killed in such strikes.
