TEHRAN, Oct. 20 (Xinhua) -- A traffic accident on early Saturday morning in southwest of Iran claimed the lives of 26 people, the state IRIB TV website reported.
A school bus carrying female students overturned into a valley on Lordegan-Dehdez road in Iran's southwestern Khuzestan province, said official IRNA news agency.
26 passengers were killed and a number of others were injured, who were transferred to hospitals in Ahavaz, the provincial capital of Khuzestan, IRIB said.
The driver lost control of the bus due to the slipperiness of the road, which led to the accident to happen, said IRNA.
