MANILA, Oct. 3, (Xinhua) -- Former Philippine president and incumbent congresswoman Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo filed on Wednesday her certificate of candidacy (COC) to seek reelection in the second district of the northern Philippine province of Pampanga in the 2013 midterm polls.
Her spokesperson Elena Bautista-Horn said that it was Arroyo's eldest son, Ang Galing Pinoy party-list Representative Juan Miguel Arroyo, who filed the former president's COC at the Commission on Elections' office in the province.
"Congressman Mikey filed for her," she said in a text message.
The former president ran for a congressional post in her home province during the May 2010 elections as her term as president ended in June of the same year, and she won in that polls.
Arroyo is currently facing strings of charges before a regional trial court and the Sandiganbayan anti-graft court.
