TEHRAN, Oct. 2 (Xinhua) -- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said here Tuesday that direct talks with the United States on bilateral relations is "possible, but the conditions should be met."
However, "I don't think under current circumstances" negotiations will take place between the two countries, said the Iranian president addressing reporters in a press conference.
International relations are based on "dialogue principle", but theses dialogues should be based on "justice and respect," said Ahmadinejad.
If one side intends to press the other to come to negotiation table under "pressure," it will be a "mistake," he added.
The Americans should notice Iran's rights, accept them and retreat from their positions against the Islamic republic, he maintained.
