TEHRAN, Oct. 2 (Xinhua) -- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Tuesday that the West has launched an economic " battle" against the Islamic republic.
The enemies have targeted Iran's oil and banking sector to put pressure on the Islamic republic, Ahmadinejad said here at a press conference.
Since the enemies have not succeeded in the "practical field" to confront Iran, they have also resorted to a "psychological war" within the country to put pressure on the country's economic and financial sector, he said replying to a question concerning the steepy depreciation of Iran's currency value against foreign currencies over the past days.
