ISLAMABAD, Sept. 29 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan's anti-narcotics officials Saturday seized 25 kilograms heroin that were booked for the UK from Islamabad, officials said.
The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) said the heroin was concealed in garments and crockery. The consignment was booked in cargo at Benazir Bhutto International Airport Islamabad, they said.
Three persons, including Cargo Booking Agent Bashir Ahmed, were arrested who were sent to the ANF center for interrogation.
Identity of two other suspects was not disclosed in view of preliminary investigation to find out if they have other accomplices, officials said.
According to the anti-narcotics body, the heroin being smuggled is worth hundreds of thousands of dollars in the international market.
This is the second seizer of heroin by the ANF at the Islamabad airport. Nearly six kg of heroin was recovered from a passenger earlier this month.
