TEHRAN, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- A senior Iranian military commander said Friday that Iran will deliver prompt and immediate response to any military attack on its territory, Press TV reported.
"We do not feel threatened by the ravings of the leaders of Israel," Joint Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Major General Hassan Firouzabadi, was quoted as saying.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a ceremony marking the start of the Week of Defense in Iran, Firouzabadi said that Iran's response to any threats will be prompt and unstoppable.
Israel threatens to destroy Iran's nuclear facilities and has been highly concerned over Iran's nuclear program. It is believed by the West to head for acquiring nuclear weapons under the cover of civilian purposes. But Iran insisted that its nuclear program is solely for peaceful purposes.
